BLACKWATER COACHES is owned and run by Donal Scannell for the past ten years. Donal ran a renowned holiday inn "The Mills Inn Hotel". From 1973 Donal built up the hotel from a small bed & breakfast venue to a world renowned holiday destination.  

Donal was born and brought up in Ireland as a fluent speaker of the Irish language in a small village 20 minutes from Killarney, Co Kerry.

Donal sold the Mills Inn in 2000 to concentrate on Blackwater Coaches and uses the knowledge from hundreds of tourist that had visited the Inn to make sure that Blackwater Coaches take visitors to Ireland to the most attractive and interesting places for its clients.

Our tours regularly take in the filming locations of many world renowned films, such as  "The Quiet Man" (John Wayne & Maureen O'Hara), "Far &Away" on the Dingle peninsula (Tom Cruse), "Ryan's Daughter" with Robert Michum, "Michael Collins" (Liam Neeson, Aidan Quinn & Julia Roberts) or simply a quiet coastal strand.
